Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics
February 8, 2011
Dear Prospective Student,
It is with great disappointment that Vanderbilt University School of Nursing has decided to suspend the Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. There is an insufficient number of applicants to make the program viable. First and foremost, Vanderbilt is committed to providing excellent educational experiences. In order to provide an ideal learning environment, we need a sufficient cohort of students which we have been unable to achieve thus far.
Since the development of the program, unforeseen changes have occurred in the economy and health care that we feel have not made the program a viable program for dietitians. Should things change in these arenas and adequate interest be shown, we will consider reactivating the program.
In the meantime, we wish you the best with future endeavors.
Kindest regards,
